Our Story
No BS jerky is an Urbandale, Iowa based company that is a Veteran owned and operated family run business. Our story isn’t a conventional one. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and told to manage it with medication. I didn’t accept that. I did my own research and found a different way. What I found changed the direction of my life completely. I went carnivore—and everything changed. No more symptoms. Not just Crohn’s, but a lot of other chronic issues too.
Having six kids, I needed something I could eat on the go. When I couldn’t find jerky that fit my dietary restrictions, I said screw it and started making it myself. That need is where No BS Jerky came from. I know I’m not the only one dealing with this disease, or others like it, and I want to help anyone walking a similar path.
Our Philosophy
We believe in simple food done right. Our beef comes from Amish farms in Southeast Iowa — grass-fed, grass-finished, and free from hormones and antibiotics. It shows up in 15–20 lb blocks, and everything is cut, seasoned, and packaged in-house. No middlemen. No shortcuts.
We use every ounce of what we bring in, building multiple product lines and operating with zero waste — the way things were done for generations. Our jerky and tallow products follow that same ancestral mindset: real ingredients, real sourcing, and simple products made the way they used to be.
